Bible Verse: 2Corin:12:9  (God Says) " My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness"

Message: All mankind have weakness to live perfect life. Some accepts a part of it, some never accepts it but believe they are fully perfect. Bible says God chose the weak of the world (I Corin:1:27) The more we understand & agree our weakness the more we will understand God's selection and realise His strength. That's why St Paul who is well trained & seen as perfect in man's sight is glad of knowing his weakness (2Corin:12 :9,10) Second, we should trust in God's grace which is sufficient for us. Remember we are saved by grace & not by our works (Eph:2:8). Third, we have to pray & submit ourselves daily because we are weak. Jesus said Spirit is willing but flesh is weak (Mark:14:38). Jesus prayed deligently when He was in the world  (Heb:5:7) So since He understands our weakness He is able to help us and give us strength (Heb:4:15)

Bible verse : John:3:16 " For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son" 

Message: We learn 2 important things regarding birth of Jesus. One is the love of God which is revealed to mankind through Jesus Christ. Love of God surpass all our understanding (Eph:3:19) Today as we celebrate Christmas we should ask God to help us in understanding & realizing His great love for us. Because Jesus Christ was born to save us from sins (Is:9:6) Secondly, Jesus Christ was born to restore the lost Glory on man which we lost due to sin (Rom:3:23). In the story of prodigal son (Luk:15:11-24) the son spends his portion of Father's wealth lavishly & realizes the glory which he has lost when he was with the father; the son then decides to come back and join as a servant. But when he returns he finds his father's love & his father restores the lost Glory by accepting him as son (Luk:15:11-24). God is ready to accept us as sons when we believe & realize the purpose behind birth of Jesus Christ.

Prayer : Dear Lord help us to realize the huge price you had paid to restore glory to us. In Jesus name Amen

Bible Verse : Acts:4:13 "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus"

Message: We are called to live a confident life in Jesus just like how the deciples spoke and lived a bold life at all circumstances. We lose confidence and give up faith in sorrows, failures, or sometimes even for pleasing men of great power & fame. To live a confident live first we should know, meditate & walk in Truth which is word of God day & night. (Josh:1:8 & PS:1:2,3). Secondly, we should realise and believe that God who promised is always with us everytime in all situations (Josh:1:9 & Mat:28:20) When we pray and walk towards Him we will be assured of His presence and will be confident (Jer:29:13) Finally, the sweet communion of Holy Spirit gives us confidence (Acts:4:31) We overcome world not by power but by Spirit (Zach:4:6)

Bible Verse:Proverbs:10:7
"The name of the righteous is used in blessings"
Message: As we read in the above Bible verse we learn and get blessed when we look at the lives of righteous or the saints. In one of his letters St Paul writes as "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness "(2Tim:4:7-8)Two things we see here one a good fight in faith to live a righteous life & another to not give up but live in Hope which God has promised. It's only through faith that we can live a righteous life (1John:5:5) & we have to stay in faith with perseverance(Heb:10:39) It is also important to always remember the Hope which God has promised; so that we donot give up in righteous living (Rom:5:5) One more quality we see in Saints is they were ready to give up anything for Jesus (Mat:9:9 &4:20) only when we love Jesus than all things of the world we will be able to follow him and live righteous (John:21:17). Finally the saints always remembered the life of Jesus; His sufferings, preaching, love, prayer life, healing etc. So it's important for us to meditate on life of Jesus said in Gospels (2Tim:2:8)
Prayer: Dear Lord as we remember the righteous who lived for you help us also to stand in faith with hope of reward for faith.

Bible Verse Ephesians:3:17-19 ".. that you being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ"

Message: It is important to keep growing daily in God's Love. We know that God loves us but the extent of this knowledge differ for each of us. To do God's work, to understand His will, to stand in faith we need to increase in Knowledge of God's love. There are few things which we can do. First when we thank God at all circumstances God's Love gets revealed in us.(1Thes:5:18) We have to give thanks in remembrance of His sacrifice and grace. Second, when we obey His word & walk in His ways God's love is revealed to us and we will remain in His love (1John:2:5 & 5:3). Also donot let the love of world hide God's love (1 John:2:15) Third, when we share God's love with others we increase in knowing His love (1John:4:12) God bless you.

Bible Verse: John:16:8 " And when he (Holy Spirit) comes he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement"
Message: We will meditate few important works of Holy Spirit which Jesus spoke. First conviction of sin, this is given because of lack of faith in Jesus (John:16:9) We are saved through faith in Jesus & not by our works (Gal:3:10-14) So Holy Spirit alerts us whenever we move away from faith. Second, concerning righteousness because Jesus is with the father (John:16:10) He reminds us that we are God's children (Rom:8:16) & Jesus intercedes for us to the father (Rom:8:34) also he reminds us that it's no longer we but Christ lives in us & he is our righteousness ( Gal:2:20). Third, regarding judgement because the devil is judged (John:16:11) He reminds us that devil is already a defeated foe & God has already given us victory on which we have to hope always (Rom:5:1-5) So let's pray for sweet communication with Holy Spirit daily & each second  (2 Corin:13:14) God bless you Amen

Message: Bible instructs us to remember the works of God. We will meditate about these instructions. We have to first remember the works of God and give thanks to Him before we offer our tithes (Deu:26:1-11). Secondly, in all your success remember God's work & acknowledge Him (Prov:3:6 & Deu:8:1-10). Your success is because of God's work & hence He deserves all glory (1Pet:4:11) Finally, in your difficult situation remember God's work. This will give you courage, hope & strength to victory; because Jesus had shed His precious blood on the cross & been victorious (John:16:33 & Luk:22:19). So remember His sacrifice you will be victorious always. God bless you.

Message: Many of us like to live a Holy life in God. But at times we get trapped back to sin. We will see about few major traps to sin. One main reason is when we place ourselves next to sinful sources (Jam:1:14,15 & Gen:4:7).We have to flee & keep distance from anything that cause us to sin (1Tim:6:11) Second, when we give up faith we end up in sin (1Tim:4:1 & 1Tim:1:19,20) Discouragements, failures, pleasures of world are some weapons used by devil to attack our faith. Third, in your anger donot sin (Eph:4:26 & PS:4:4) settle all anger & dispute before sunset. Forgive & love each other; As God's children be peace makers (Mat:5:9) & slow to anger (Jam:1:19) May God bless you

Bible Verse Hebrews 12: 16,17 "unholy like Esau who sold his birthright for a single meal..."
Message: Esau sold his blessing of firstborn for just a meal In those days It was symbolizing a blessing which is received if we live close with God.(PS:89:26,27) When we think of riches we imagine those of world like cars, house, clothes, money etc. But there is greater riches when we live with God. It is not of world but God himself is the reward. God said to Abraham " Iam your exceedingly great reward" (Gen:15:1) For God shall not make such a person lack the basic needs of the world (PS:37:6,25) also God is going to make him rich with Himself as a reward. For God will satisfy such a person with more gladness than those that trust world (PS:4:7) So what should we do; first, seek the kingdom of God & blessings of above (Mat:6:33) we should work to store riches in heaven (Mat:6:19-21) Second, as a good soilder of God be a testimony for God even at difficult paths (2Tim:2:3) Trust & rejoice in Lord always (Haba:3:17-19) Finally as St Paul says to gain Christ consider all worldly benefits, positions and pride as waste (Phil:3:7,8) we can boast only of cross(Gal:6:14) & always glorify God. Bible Verse Acts:17:23 "I even found an alter with this inscription To The Unknown God. Therefore the one whom you worship without knowing; Him I proclaim to you"
Message: When St Paul was at Athens he found this inscription of Unknown God and he preached about God. Many of us know Jesus as a character in Biblical history or as a God worshipped by our forefathers. Many have not experienced Jesus in their lives; hence God remain unknown to them  The experiences of talking with God, feeling His presence, walking with Him still remain alien to them. Bible says taste and see that the Lord is good (Ps:34:8) & God also right from creation of world is willing to talk with mankind (Heb:1:1 & Ps:91:15). He is knocking at our hearts door (Rev:3:20) So first we have to open our hearts to Jesus & give full control to Him (John:14:23) He will come in and become our father, friend and everything (John:15:14) Second we have to give our time in to listen to Him through prayer (Jam:1:19-22) Seek & you will find him (Deu:4:29) Third ask for greater heavenly gifts the you may know God & understand him more daily (John:16:24) God bless you.

Bible Verse Hebrews:11:6
"And without faith it is impossible to please God"
Message: We believe in God and in his ways through the instructions received from Word of God, Preachers of Word, & the Holy Spirit (Rom:10:17, John:16:9) But Faith is demonstration of this belief through works. Faith without works is dead (Jam:2:26). There is difference between belief and faith; Even demons believed in God and they shouted Jesus is Son of God. Let's look at how a person gets saved he has to believe the word, through his works get rid of sins and have faith (Eph:2:8). We see in lives of God's people like Abraham, Noah, and many who had faith into works. Secondly, through faith we become pleasing to God and our works should be testified by God (Heb:11:4-6 & IJohn:5:7). The testimony given by God is true and is above all(IJohn:5:9 & John:5:31-38). Third, we live in a world which is getting more evil and filled with trials and temptations to be righteous we need faith with works (IJohn:5:5). Through faith we are gaurded in God's power (IPet:1:5). Bible says the Just shall live by faith (Heb:10:38). So let's seek Jesus who is perfector of our faith (Heb:12:2) & who is able to present us blameless and Holy (Jude:24). God bless you

And the Lord said to him, "Pass through the city, through Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all abominations that are committed in it"
Message : In this week's Bible verse we see how God values the prayers made by people because of the sins in their country. God search for people who will stand in the gap and pray for others (Ez:22:30). Many of us pray for ourselves but not for families, friends, neighbours, state & country. Why should we pray for others. First it's God's desire that we pray for others (I Tim:2:1-3) God loves everyone he shed his precious blood on cross for all mankind. He wants everyone to be saved & to know the truth. Second, praying for others builds love and harmony with others (Mat:5:44,45) If we love others we need to carry eachothers burden & also support them in prayers (Gal:6:2 & Eph:6:18) We are all parts of one body in Christ. When any part of body suffers others to suffer with it.(ICor:12:26) Third, God reveals his answer & prophecy to those who earnestly pray for others. (Jer:33:3) We see this in lives of Daniel, Jeremiah , Nehamiah etc So let's pray for one another. God bless you.

Bible Verse Psalm:116:12 "What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me"
Message : Bible records alot of offerings done by mankind which was pleasing to God like offering of Abel, Noah, a widow lady etc; also offerings which did not please Him like that of Israelites , annaniah etc. How to present an offering which will please God. First our offering should be without blemish (Mal:1:7-9) which means God will not accept an offering with evil heart (Is:1:13), with enemity on brotherin (Mat:5:23,24), without love(ICor:13:3), without Thanksgiving (PS:116:17) second we should give the best to God just like the poor widow who offered the best when others offered out of abundance (Luk:21:4) Third we should remember that Jesus offered himself as a sacrifice for us (Heb:10:12) David says for all that God has done we cannot return anything  equal but lift the cup of salvation and call on his name. Let's offer our life as a living sacrifice and then present our offerings of wealth. God bless you.

Message: Prayer is an essential part of our lives. Prayer is to talk with God. Let's meditate on few points about prayer. When we pray we should first believe & have faith that God will answer us and do a miracle; If we doubt we cannot receive anything (Jam:1:6,7) Second we should not give up our prayers until we receive a blessing or an answer. For God will surely answer all who wait for him in prayer(PS:40:1) also he will fulfill his revelation & word (Ha:2:3) Third we have to pray like Jesus. Some of the words of Jesus on cross were short Prayers. Jesus prayed to forgive all who persecuted him. We need to bless & pray for all who curse or harm us only then we can forgive them(Rom:12:14) Finally we have to pray at all times in Holy Spirit (Eph:6:18) because Holy Spirit guides us in what to pray for and He prays with goarnings as per the will of God (Rom:8:26,27)

Bible Verse: Joshua:1:9 " Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, Do not be frightened, and Donot be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go"
Message: Fear is a common term among mankind. But God instructs us not to fear anything in this world; because it's the enemy devil who brings in fear and he is a liar(John:8:44), he acts like a roaring lion to trap people (1Pet:5:8). When we fear we deny faith and believe a lie. A man who trust in God will not fear anything & even at bad news his heart will be steady until he sees victory (PS:112 :7,8) God has promised to be with us always, even till end of earth(Mat:28 :20) also he has overcome the world (Jhn:16:33). Secondly, A man who fears God will not Fear the world (Prov:14:26) Fear of God is to hate evil(Prov:8:13) So if we fear God we will hate all sins  hence we will not be afraid of anything. Third a person who meditates in the word of God will not fear anything, because he will know the Truth & God's word is Truth. It brings light even at darkness (PS:119:105) It gives us hope and reminds our faith thereby we can be assured of victory and not fear at circumstances

Bible Verse: ICorin:10:3-5 "All ate the same Spiritual food & all drank the same Spiritual drink...But with most of them God was not well pleased"
Message: There is a difference between people who are blessed by God and people who live pleasing to God. In this world many receive blessing from God eg the Rain is for all, but few live pleasing to him. God found Noah, Enoch,David etc to be pleasing to Him. When Jesus was baptized the voice from heaven said God is pleased with Jesus (Mat:12:18). How can we live pleasing to God. First we should seek his heart and do his Will. Jesus submitted to do the will of Father (Mat:26:39) David did the will of God & he was called by God as a man after His own heart (Acts:13:22). We need to be available for God & humble ourselves to know & do His will. To be available for him we have to be away from sins (PS:14:2,3). When we humble ourselves we understand his ways (PS:25:9) Second we should walk in Spirit to be pleasing to God(Rom:8:8) only then we will not do desires of our Flesh rather we do will of God.
Prayer: Dear God help us not just to be a people who have received blessing from you but also to be a pleasing people for you. Continue to speak with us. In Jesus name Amen

Bible Verse: Luke:1:37 (NIV) "For no word from God will ever fail"
Message: Are you waiting for God's promises to be fulfilled? Do you think will it ever happen by looking at your  circumstances. Even when whole world tells you it's impossible trust in God because He will fulfill his Word. Here's why God's promises will be fulfilled in your lives. First, God is faithful and true (IThes:5:24 & Duet:7:9), he is not man to lie (Num:23:19), he cannot deny himself (2Tim:2:13) God saved Israelites in battels and blessed them not because of their righteousness but because of the word & promises given to their forefathers (Deut:9:5). Secondly since God loves us he will fulfill his promise. When God gave his only Son to redeem us how much more will he fulfill his promise to us (Rom:8:32) God does not bring evil in our lives His plans are always for good (Jer:29:11) When a man does good to his children will God do evil(Mat:7:11) There are instances in Bible where the prophecy of curse is withdrawn by God ( eg Niniveh) but there are no instances where His promises are unfulfilled. So let's trust his word and wait in prayer for his Word to be fulfilled each day.

Bible Verse :"There is a way that seem right to a man but it's end is the way to death" Prov:14:12
Message : Many ways seem right to us in this world; those may also be recommended by our friends, colleagues and relations. But Bible says ways which seem right to a man will lead to sin and eventually a spiritual death of souls (Jam1:15) we see in life of king Solomon; when he did whatever pleased his eyes it affected his spiritual life(Ecc:2:10) This is why Moses as  guided by God teached not to perform things which are right in eyes of men(Deut:12:8) Hence we should look for the will of God always. We should belive that God loves us and his thoughts for us are always toward blessing (Jer:29:11)His ways are higher than our ways. We see King David always seeking to know God's will and way before taking decisions PS:25:4 When we submit and seek for the will of God His voice will guide us (IS:30:21). God bless you

Message: Our God is powerful and his works are wonderful and awesome. But do we realise and experience that we serve a mighty and powerful God. How can we experience God's mighty power in our lives. Jesus said believe and you will see the Glory of God (John:11:40).Bible records a lot of miracles and wonders which God performed when people had faith in Him (Heb:11:33-35, Mark:16:17,18) Without faith it's not possible to witness God's power (James:1:6,7)St Paul who had witnessed God's work and wonders in his life says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"(Phil:4:13). Are you worried about your circumstances, diseases or any problem in life; Bible says through faith even your daily life is gaurded by God's power (1Pet:1:5) So Just submit to God and trust him you will receive the Miracle. Message: Sorrows, and failures are often used as weapons by devil against God's people.It also test and force us to deny or doubt our faith which leads to committing sin, loosing peace etc.  We see that Job's wife asked Job to deny faith due to increased sorrow in life (Job:2:9). But God's word helps us to build our faith even at times of sorrow (Romans:10:7). It reveals us the truth which gives us Joy and hope in affliction. We see apostles and men of God could withstand more terrible sorrows through the word of God.

Bible Verse : Deuteronomy:4:6 "Keep them (God's Word) and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the people's, who when they hear all these statutes will say 'surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people'"
Message : We would have heard and given instructions many times to gain wisdom from newspapers, TED talks, GK books etc; very rarely anyone says to get from meditating word of God. If words spoken by man carries wisdom how much more will God's word have it. God's word is full of wisdom and understanding from heaven above (James:3:17) which the world cannot give. It makes God's people special from others by making them wiser than elders, teachers & the enemy (Psalm:119:98-100). so let's realise the importance of word of God and meditate it day and night . Bible Verse : "For you are a holy people to the Lord your God " Deuteronomy:7:6
Message : God expects us to be holy as He is Holy (1Pet:1:16). We have to increase in our holiness daily (Rev:22:11) How can we march towards the holiness which God desires. Few things we have to follow are 1)Keep your mind and heart always alert (1Pet:1:13) 2)Get away from unclean things (1Tim:6:11) 3) Through the cleansing in blood of Jesus do God's work (Heb:9:14) Jesus asked his disciples to be careful in this world as walking among wolves(Matt:10:16) He told us to be careful against anyone who can harm our soul and not body(Matt:10:28) Also we have to flee from any source which will lead us to sin(1John:2:15) and we have to be filled in the Love of God for doing His will with His guidance. Everyday remember to go to God's presence , He will help us to identify the wrong ways in our life and help us to live Holy.

The Final Verdict

True Fasting

Fasting is one act which is commonly followed by most of the people irrespective of religion. People fast for many different reasons; some fast for their prayers to get answered and some fast at special occasions as demanded by their culture or religion. Many of the Christians do fast during the period of Lent in remembrance of the sufferings of Jesus Christ on the Cross. The Holy Bible do explains and supports both the fasting during occasions and fasting for prayers getting answered.

In Romans:14: 5,6 says " One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord " Hence fasting during lent where some people consider it as special is justified. Also in old testaments we find many people like Ezra, Daniel, Nehemiah and many more fasted and got their prayers answered. In Ezra: 8:23  Ezra writes as; "So we fasted and entreated our God for this and He answered our prayer". 

Bible also states fasting as one of the powerful tool in our Spiritual warfare. When Jesus drove out a demon from a little boy which his disciples could not do he said " This kind does not go out except by prayer and Fasting" (Matthew:17:21) . Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights before starting the ministry and Bible says after fasting Jesus returned to Galilee in power of the Spirit to do ministry (Luke:4:14).  Jesus have also said as written in Matthew:9:15 that his disciples will also fast after his resurrection. Bible also recommends fasting to the believers as written in I Corinthians :7:5 " Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer". 

But when we read the word of God we find that not all fasting was accepted by God. Luke:18:10-14 says about prayer of a pharisee and a tax collector; The pharisee in his prayer mentions about his fasting for twice in a week where as the tax collector mentions nothing about fasting in his life yet Bible says the Prayer of the tax collector was answered and he went back home justified; whereas the prayer of pharisee went in vain. Also in old testament we find in many places where God has not responded to the fasting done by Israelite's because he was not pleased with their actions. So there is an expectation from God about true fasting and Bible also explains us on this.

Now what does fasting mean to us or what do we think a real fasting is; while the worldly meaning says it  as  about just abstaining from some kind of food and drink for a period of time; God speaks to his people through his prophet about true fasting in Isaiah:58:6 as " Is this not the fast that I have chosen; To loose the bonds of wickedness; To undo the heavy burdens; To let the oppressed go free and that you break every yoke"

The above verse is spoken by God to the prophet Isaiah and he says about what is exactly a true fasting is all about. The verse says 2 key messages "to remove all your burdens and then to set the oppressed free"

Cast your burdens onto Jesus & Be available to do his will:

Why is it important to cast burdens? If you think of a situation when you are so stressed up you will realize that you would not have led a peaceful life, you would have got angry on too many people unable to take appropriate decision etc. Similarly the devil puts a lot of such burdens in our lives so that we cannot be spiritually strong and work according to God's will.

More often we are too worried about our worldly needs like we need a house, we need more money, we need vehicle etc. Some times we are worried about some of the worldly fears like fear of sickness, fear of exams, fear of tomorrow etc. When we are more worried about your worldly needs and fears how can we be available to God for doing his will. In Matthew :6:25 - 34 Jesus said " Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes?" verse 27 " Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ?"  verse 31 & 32 " So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear.?' For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly father knows that you need them". Bible also says that God knows our needs even before we approach him.  So lets untie such cords of yokes which are inform of worldly needs and fears.

Another important factor that burden us is the sins of our life. When we commit a sin we loose our peace we are not able to focus on God's will we restrain from prayer life and we restrain from the works which God want us to do. The burden of sin does not allow us to work for God.  We need to loose this bondage of wickedness; for this we need to understand, believe and realize the truth that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sins. In Hebrews: 9:14 we read " .. the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may Serve The Living God".  Yes the blood of Christ has cleansed us from our sins so that we can serve God as per his will.

So what is the burden that is not making you available for God's work. Let's cast all our burdens onto Jesus today. For Jesus Said in Matthew : 11:28-30 "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for Iam gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light"

So when we give all our burdens to Jesus we will be able to take up his yoke and only then God will show his hearts desire to you and when you do his will there is high Joy and peace. Remember, that Jesus carried all our burdens, sins and sickness on the cross and won over it, through him we will always have victory over our needs and burdens if you cast on him. So as a first step lets cast all our cares and burdens on Jesus and wait in his presence in fasting and Prayer with a available heart to know his will.

Once we have this understanding and deliverance lets help the oppressed who are still burdened with sins, cares of world etc to be free by casting the burdens to Jesus.
